"Closure", Casted.

Wooo! I got the role of Ethan! They loved a lot of the things I did during the audition. I also learned that Troy is going to be played by Spencer. Gold. I can't wait to work with him :D. I never get to in Jest because we play similar roles in the comedy show. This'll be fun. Now to dig into the script and dissect the shit out of it. Bam.

"Closure", Audition.

Wow that was fricken rough. I tried to memorize a monologue for this thing, but with Marshall and Adriel being loud as fuck, there was no way to get one down in time. So I had to go in their blindly and just read from the sides. This was my first cold read, ever, period. I always thought that you showed up a half hour to an hour early, they give you the sides, and then you have some time to work on them a bit before you go into the audition. However, I showed up an hour early and was told that the sides were given to me as I enter the room. I started to freak out a little bit.. no monologue, no time to work the sides. Luckily Megan was there to calm my brain a bit with conversation, and gave me some tips on how to handle the audition given the circumstances.

So I go in there, and they wanted me to read for Troy (comedic relief, Seth Rogan'ish type character), and Ethan (lead, fo srs, lovey scene and depressed scene.) I did Troy first, and ended up botching the lines pretty badly. Then I did Ethan, which turned out a lot better, although I recall doing a few nervous habits while I was reading. So.. I really have no idea how this will turn out. It was nice doing an audition again though, especially after 3 years of.. not. And this definitely taught me that I need to do more cold reading and perfect the art.
